Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilwoman Laura Maier announced the winners of the Town’s American Spirit Home Decorating Contest, which invited residents to express their patriotism and American spirit by decorating their homes in red, white and blue around the holiday. The Town also illuminated Town Hall in those colors.
“This contest unites our community through patriotism and love while supporting our local economy,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Buying decorations from small businesses is also an important way for us to show our support of small businesses while celebrating our American spirit.”
For their great show of American Spirit, the following residents will be awarded complimentary beach passes for the 2023 season based on their participation and display of patriotism:
- Cunningham Family of Massapequa Park
- Flatley Family of Plainview
- Streletz Family of Massapequa
“As we continue to experience some trying times in our world, bringing back our patriotic spirit can unite us as Americans,” said Councilwoman Maier. “We appreciate our residents’ participation in this fun contest as our country celebrated its independence.”
