Long Island Nets To Host 3v3 Youth Basketball Tournament During Hoop Fest Celebration

The Long Island Nets, NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, will host a 3v3 youth basketball tournament during the team’s Hoop Fest Celebration at Jones Beach, on Saturday, Aug. 13.

The 3v3 basketball tournament is open to youth ages 8-16 and teams can consist of up to three players and one substitute. All registered players will receive a Long Island Nets t-shirt and will play in a minimum of three games. Winning teams in each division will receive a trophy along with four complimentary tickets to the Long Island Nets’ home opener this November where they will be recognized on-court during halftime. Registration for the 3v3 tournament is $160 per team and the deadline to register is Friday, Aug. 5.

“We are proud to collaborate with our local partners at Jones Beach to bring summer fun to Long Island,” said Alton Byrd, Senior Vice President of Growth Properties at BSE Global, the parent company of the Long Island Nets. “This scenic outdoor facility provides the perfect backdrop for our tournament and allows us to celebrate the game in the community.”

The youth tournament is part of the Long Island Nets’ Hoop Fest Celebration – a one-day event featuring fun for all ages, including a mobile video game truck, backyard games, and a DJ. There will also be local food options available for purchase and a meet and greet with Long Island Nets’ mascot, Dale the Eagle.

“We are pleased to host our first partnership with the Long Island Nets and debut our recently reconstructed basketball courts at Jones Beach,” said George Gorman, Regional Director at New York State Office of Parks Recreation, and Historic Preservation. “We look forward to a great tournament.”

Jones Beach is located at 2400 Ocean Parkway, Wantagh, NY 11793. The Basketball Courts are located just south of the Field 5 parking lot. For more information about the Hoop Fest Celebration and to register a team for the 3v3 youth tournament, visit LongIslandNets.com.
