Students built structures using only toothpicks and gummy bears.
Hiawatha Elementary School students and their families participated in STEAM Night on Feb. 7. The evening was full of hands-on science, math and engineering stations.

Students constructed towers made out of plastic cups.
Students created marble tracks, pyramids out of plastic cups, toothpick structures, Play-Doh fractions and built with Legos. The Sachem High School Robotics Team, made up of students from East and North, gave the younger students and their parents a glimpse into the district’s robotics program. One of the highlights of the evening was the remote-controlled robot that pulled students around the gym in a cart.
