West Babylon Senior High School students visited with local business owner Ryan Burnett, a West Babylon alumnus and owner of Ryan Anthony Heating and Cooling, on Feb. 8. The field trip was organized by teacher Colleen Kilgus in the business department to give students the chance to experience different trades.
Burnett has spoken at the high school about post-secondary careers in technical fields. He invited interested kids to tour his facility and meet with other business owners in the field. He spoke to the students about the trades and entrepreneurship as well as offering guidance and advice on being a business owner.
The West Babylon business department runs a work-study program/internship and pairs students with different trades based on their interests.
