East Islip High School students Nicole Mazza and Sarah Vasquez were recently named semifinalists in the 2023 Coca-Cola Scholars Program, recognizing their high academic achievement, leadership skills and community service. Mazza and Vasquez were two of just 51 Long Island students and 1,157 nationwide to earn semifinalist status, giving them a chance to earn one of 150 Coca-Cola Scholarships worth $20,000 each to be announced this spring.
