PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank Thank Generous Massapequans for Donating 3,400 Meals in Annual Food Collection

PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island employee-volunteers collected donations from generous Massapequa neighbors during PSEG Long Island’s first of the season Power to Feed Long Island collection drive on June 12, 2026.

PSEG Long Island and Island Harvest Food Bank are grateful to the Massapequa community who donated the equivalent of nearly 3,400 meals at PSEG Long Island’s Power to Feed Long Island food collection on Friday, June 12. The annual event, held in the parking lot of the Stop & Shop supermarket on the corner of Hicksville Road and Jerusalem Avenue in Massapequa brought out neighbors to help their neighbors struggling with food insecurity. The nearly $900 in cash and nearly 2,000 pounds of food and essential items collected will be distributed back to the community by Island Harvest Food Bank to families through local soup kitchens, nourishment centers, food pantries and other outreach programs.

Friday’s event was the first in PSEG Long Island’s 2026 summer-long food drive initiative.
