Museum Of American Armor To Honor Those Who Withstood The Deadly German WW II Counteroffensive

Veterans and families whose relatives fought during the fierce World War II “Battle of the Bulge,” are invited to attend a tribute and prayer service to mark the anniversary of the battle where 19,000 Americans lost their lives, Thursday, December 15, at 4:30 p.m. at the Museum of American Armor, 1303 Round Swamp Road, inside Old Bethpage Village Restoration, Old Bethpage.

Surrounded by WW II armor, the program will feature a dusk prayer service where families are invited to light candles in memory of those family members who served during the battle and for those GI’s who perished confronting Nazi forces during the enemy’s last major counter offensive.

Armor Museum president and founder, Lawrence Kadish stated, “We are morally obligated to pause and pay tribute to the Americans who, in the dead of a European winter, were confronted with every weapon the Nazis could throw against them. Their courage and valor stopped that attack but at a terrible cost. These GIs cannot be forgotten and their families are invited to join us in a candle light vigil of remembrance.”

Admission to the memorial service is free.
