Legislator Anker Celebrates Earth Day With BNL & LIPA

Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker and her Chief of Staff Dorothy Cavalier joined Brookhaven National Laboratory and the Long Island Power Authority for Earth Day-inspired talks and activities.

“Promoting and sharing knowledge about environmental science is critical to preserving our Long Island ecosystems,” said Legislator Anker. “It’s inspiring to see BNL and LIPA lead in environmental conservation awareness.”

The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Brookhaven National Laboratory, in collaboration with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), celebrated Earth Day at the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center with a day full of educational talks and activities. Leaders at LIPA and Brookhaven Lab welcomed attendees to the day’s lecture series, sharing each institution’s climate and energy-related missions.
