PSEG Long Island is proud to celebrate the achievements of Holbrook’s Justine Sarni and her female co-workers in honor of Women in Construction Week – March 6-12.
Sarni is a Training Governance specialist for Emergency Preparedness (EP) at PSEG Long Island, and she has worked at the utility for nearly nine years. Sarni oversees emergency restoration-related training and exercises, which include program quality, effectiveness, training compliance and continuous improvement.
“My job is to ensure all employees are trained and prepared for when a storm hits our service territory so our crews can restore power as safely and quickly as possible,” she said. “Ensuring our employees are trained and ready to work safely and effectively during a storm assures our customers have safe, reliable power, not only on a blue sky day but also during a storm event.”
Sarni says the company has helped her advance in her career, and she’s proud to be a woman in the construction field.
“While there are fewer women with whom I can network and collaborate with, the support and training from the company and my colleagues have given me the tools to succeed and advance.”
Women in Construction Week recognizes the achievements of women who work in the construction industry, which historically has been a male-dominated field.
