More than a dozen staff members of Eastern Suffolk BOCES spent their personal time and money making cloth facemasks to donate to hospitals, rehab facilities, local businesses, assisted living centers, non-profit organizations, their students, coworkers, and anyone who needed them. A recent count revealed that staff created and donated more than 3,000 masks. In fact, some people no longer keep track of how many they’ve made. One staff member and her mother teamed up and made more than 1,000 masks. “I love to sew and I want to help keep people safe,” said Susanne Frische, ESBOCES teacher of Speech and Language.”
