In a lovely opening ceremony, East Islip’s young musicians kicked off the annual FTK Carnival on Sept. 23. A proud chorus sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” while string musicians performed “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” under the direction of music teachers Jaime DeMaria and Angela Stewart.
The For the Kids Foundation’s three-day event, held on the grounds of Timber Point Elementary School, offers games and rides for district families.
