Students at Bayview Elementary School in the West Islip School District sharpened their math skills this June while also raising money for a good cause. Bayview students participated in St. Jude’s Math-A-Thon, a program for students in grades K-8 that teaches the importance of math skills while benefiting St. Jude’s Research Hospital. To participate, students collected pledges from family and friends as they solve different problems in the grade-appropriate worksheets. Bayview students raised more than $4,200 in total.
