American Cancer Society Announces Long Island’s Second Annual Wellness Festival

Get fit while giving back by attending the American Cancer Society’s Wellness Festival at Walt Whitman Shops on Sunday, Feb. 9th, where your day at the mall includes high-end fitness experiences, wellness workshops, exclusive discounts in stores and premium swag.

“If you ever wondered what a high-end fitness experience is about, here’s your chance to try some of Long Island’s leading fitness programs led by industry experts,” according to Colleen Ryan, Community Manager, American Cancer Society.   “From shopping to squats, we’ll be celebrating fitness, fun, and some “retail therapy” while educating the public about nutrition and physical fitness guidelines for the prevention of cancer,” she added.

The Island’s top trainers, instructors, therapists and health and nutrition experts will be offering exercise classes and workshops — from health and wellness to post workout beauty tips to meditation and mental health.

Some of the workshops include Demystifying Stress Management, Cooking with Protein-Rich Plant Foods and Sweat Swagger Fitness, which is a heart pumping, beat dropping, cardio dance workout. We have on trend workouts from f45 Training to Orangetheory Fitness and even a Long Island exclusive patent pending workout from Total Motion 360.  New this year will be a Kids Corner featuring a special visit from some princesses, a children’s yoga class, nutrition lessons and interactive activities.

Registered participants can enjoy unlimited access to classes all morning and afternoon with a VIP ticket or just drop in for one session with a single class ticket. Advanced tickets are available at: ACTIVE.com Search: American Cancer Society or contact the Society at 631.300.3145.  Donation is $50 per person for unlimited classes and workshops, swag and exclusive discounts at leading shops or $30 for a Single Class Drop In.  Team and group discount pricing available.
