Acclaimed Poconos Resort Debuts Haunted Walks this Halloween Season

This year has been anything but ordinary. The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has proved extremely challenging especially for the hospitality industry. That has not stopped Woodloch Pines, an all-inclusive family resort located in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountains, from forging forward however. Every autumn, staff and guests alike anticipate gorgeous changing foliage, crisp cooler air, delectable fall treats, and the most exciting of all, spooky Halloween programming.

For over 25 years now, Woodloch has been thrilling guests with its signature haunted hayrides, one of the family resort’s most popular annual attractions. Given this year’s pandemic-related challenges, haunted hayrides were not a possibility. They have morphed into something even more eerie and exciting however — haunted walks. The walks fit seamlessly into Woodloch’s “Resort Responsibly” model, which ensures that both guests and staff adhere to the highest-level safety precautions.

Guests are able to pre-reserve walk times and remain within their own private groups as they wind their way through the resort’s heavily wooded nature trail, transformed to mimic 10 scenes from popular Wes Craven horror films. Woodloch’s enthusiastic Activity Staff embody the frightening characters straight out of the movies. The haunted walks include sound effects, pyrotechnics, expert lighting and professional costumes and makeup on staffers. While the “secret ingredients” remain classified information, guests can look forward to brand new scares that showcase horror flick favorites such as Jason, Freddie Kruger, and Michael Myers.

In addition to their trademark haunted hayrides, Halloween Weekend stays at Woodloch feature:

• Pumpkin Painting
• Trick or Treating
• Halloween Costume Parties with games and prizes
• Competitive contests such as “Halloween Wars” bakery decorating contests
• Halloween Scavenger Hunt featuring “ghost hunting”
• “Boo-Lympic” relay games
• A brand-new musical revue “Rockin’ Through the Decades,” featuring a live performance from rock band Nowhere Slow
• Indoor pool, hot tubs, and Splash Zone featuring a double corkscrew super slide and “Superdome” water tower which sends 300 gallons of water splashing down every few minutes
• Some of the family resort’s most popular amenities such as a zip-line and climbing wall, go-karts, bumper cars, and a Broadway-style theme show
Woodloch’s Activities Director, Joey Ranner, remarks, “This year, more than ever, we could all use some festive fun and ‘normalcy,’ and our Halloween weekends provide exactly that. Our staff have pulled out all the stops to make sure that our new haunted walks are extra thrilling and spooky. We can’t wait to see our guests priceless reactions as they traverse the trail!”

Halloween Weekend rates start at $208 per adult, per night. To obtain more information or to book a stay, please visit www.woodloch.com or call 1-800-Woodloch.
