Long Island poet Mary Healey will be reading her poetry during a Facebook Live event on Thursday, April 9th at 4:00PM. Mary Healey was scheduled to teach a Postcard Poetry workshop for children and adults on March 28th in WWBA’s Gathering House. Due to the spread of coronavirus and need for social distancing, the event had to be postponed. Healey is a notable and distinguished local poet who actively promotes poetry on Long Island; and WWBA is delighted to have Healey read her own poetry during a Facebook Live event. Healey’s poetry is down-to-earth and always uplifting. Everyone is invited to watch Mary Healey from the comfort of their homes while she reads her joyful poetry.
Donations to WWBA are very appreciated during this difficult time of social distancing.
Mary Healey is a minimalist poet. Her work has been published in Long Island Sounds, Writing Outside the Lines, Whispers and Shouts, and Long Island Quarterly. She has hosted monthly readings at The North Village Bookshop, Hicksville Library and Wyld Chyld Tattoo Parlor. She has participated in the August Poetry Postcard Event for the past six years and has taught a workshop on postcard poetry. She is currently studying the art of poison.
