Girl Scouts Of Suffolk County To Host Inaugural “Tough Cookie” 5K Run & Family Fun Walk

The Girl Scouts of Suffolk County will host its inaugural “Tough Cookie” 5K Run & Family Fun Walk, bringing together runners, families, Girl Scouts, and community supporters for a day of fitness, fun, and fundraising, on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Camp Edey, 1500 Lakeview Avenue, Bayport, NY 11705. This is a rain-or-shine event.

The event will include a competitive 5K race beginning at 9 a.m., followed by a 1-mile untimed Family Fun Walk at 11 a.m. Family Fun Day activities, including games, crafts, music, yoga, face painting, and more, will run throughout the morning.

“This event is about bringing families and the community together while supporting opportunities that help girls build courage, confidence, and character,” said Tammy Severino, President & CEO of Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. “Whether you’re running the 5K, participating in the family walk, or simply coming out to enjoy the activities, everyone can play a role in creating experiences that empower girls, open doors to new opportunities, and help them discover their full potential.”

Proceeds from the event will support Girl Scouts of Suffolk County programs, including leadership development, STEM education, entrepreneurship opportunities, scholarships, outdoor adventure experiences, and camp programming for girls throughout Suffolk County.

Media are invited to attend and cover the event, which is expected to feature colorful visuals, community participation, and interviews with organizers, Girl Scouts, families, and supporters.
