New York State Assemblyman Michael Durso (R-Massapequa Park) recently joined members of the Republican Assembly Minority Conference at a Tax Day press conference to highlight the state’s poor economic policies which have placed a huge burden on New Yorkers.

High property taxes, income tax and sales tax have made New York an unaffordable place to live. On top of that, overspending and inflation have continued to climb – resulting in the current mass exodus of people from the state. Assemblyman Durso believes the best way to reverse this trend is to rein in the radical spending and adopt commonsense policies that help hard-working families.

“Lawmakers in Albany need to provide relief for working families, homeowners, and local businesses to ensure New York is an economically viable state in the future,” said Durso. “We cannot continue to work against those who are the backbone of New York’s economy. If tax and spend policies continue, more residents and businesses will flee to tax-friendlier states.”
