On Dec. 12, first graders at Paul J. Bellew Elementary School in the West Islip School visited the STEM lab to complete a fun holiday challenge. The students were challenged to build a house for the gingerbread man, who kept running away. The students had to build a house for the gingerbread man using only toothpicks and gumdrops. Students practiced their teamwork and engineering skills while having fun.
