Justin Lollo’s class at Islip’s Wing Elementary School recently participated in a community service event, assembling 181 ham sandwiches for donation to Bethany House at St. Patrick’s Church in Bay Shore. This is the fifth year that Lollo’s class has carried on the tradition of learning about making sandwiches for a cause. Grillo’s Deli in Islip contributed by donating all of the Boar’s Head deluxe ham for this class project.

“It is a wonderful way for our young students to learn about helping others during the season of giving,” Principal Catherine Glaser said.
