West Babylon Senior High School had two students participate in Brookhaven National Laboratory’s International Bridge Building contest. Using specific materials, students were tasked with building the lightest bridge that could hold the most weight. Bridges were dropped off at Brookhaven National Lab and were tested by Brookhaven’s engineers. This year, 238 bridges were submitted for this contest from schools throughout Long Island. Congratulations to Melanie Jastrzebski and Joel Colas for taking the initiative to compete this year.
