Ward Melville Students Experience Yellowstone

Several Ward Melville High School students recently traveled to Yellowstone National Park with Avalon Nature’s Preserve’s Yellowstone Immersion program. Ella O’Connor, Riley Millet, Indigo Dalton and Charles Werder were all invited by Avalon to participate as scholarship recipients.

Ward Melville Students Experience Yellowstone

: Ward Melville High School students visited Yellowstone National Park as part of Avalon Nature Preserve’s Yellowstone Immersion Program. They were accompanied by P.J. Gelinas Junior High School teacher Doug Elliot.

During their week in the national park that encompasses parts of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, students studied wildlife biology, geology, natural history and Native American history. Additionally, they hiked and observed the flora and fauna of Yellowstone extensively. The scholarship recipients were accompanied by Avalon program coordinator and P.J. Gelinas Junior High School teacher Doug Elliot.
