Village Of Farmingdale Expands EV Charging Infrastructure To Support Sustainable Transportation

As part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the Village of Farmingdale has installed new dual-port and single-port electric vehicle charging stations in Parking Lot 3, providing convenient access for residents and visitors who drive electric vehicles. The charging stations were funded in part by grants from the New York State Research and Development Authority and PSEG Long Island. These new stations support the Village’s goal of promoting cleaner transportation options and reducing its overall carbon footprint.

Partnering with Evoke Systems to manage user-friendly software, charging is simple and accessible for the community.

The project was supported by INF Associates, a New York–based energy solutions firm specializing in electric vehicle infrastructure, renewable energy, and decarbonization projects. INF’s experienced team provides innovative solutions that drive measurable sustainability results.

The new stations are part of the Village of Farmingdale’s broader sustainability initiatives, which include ongoing investments in energy efficiency, waste reduction, and renewable energy adoption.

On Wednesday, April 1st, at 10:30 a.m., Village officials joined representatives from PSEG Long Island to commemorate the installation with a ceremony in Parking Lot 3, in front of the charging stations. During the event, PSEG Long Island presented the Village with a $35,000 rebate check through its EV Make Ready Program, which helped fund the installation of seven charging ports. Farmingdale is proud to be among the first communities to complete this program.

The event also coincided with the first day of Earth Month and the launch of Drive Electric Earth Month.

These charging stations are designed to benefit businesses, shoppers, and residents alike.

“Farmingdale Village has always enjoyed working with PSEG Long Island, and we are thrilled about these charging stations—especially to be among the first locally to participate in this program. These will be especially beneficial to apartment dwellers and residents who do not have access to their own chargers, as well as everyone who comes to Farmingdale Village to dine and shop. Come on down to Farmingdale and get charged up!”

“We’re delighted the Village of Farmingdale and other municipalities are taking advantage of financial incentives available through PSEG Long Island’s EV Make Ready Program,” said Paul DiBenedetto, PSEG Long Island’s Electric Vehicle Program Manager. “EV Make Ready offsets much of the cost of installing EV fast charging stations in public places across Long Island. Kudos to the Village of Farmingdale for its commitment to sustainability and for recognizing that installing these EV chargers supports drivers who want to eat, play, and work in beautiful Farmingdale.”
