Principal of Islip High School Dr. Lara Gonzales and Suffolk County Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Islip High School senior Connor Ancipink for his impressive academic achievements and discipline. In addition to being named a National Merit Finalist and coming within one point of a perfect score on the ACT exam, Connor was determined to obtain the best score possible on the SAT exam.
He set out to beat his first SAT score of 1510 out of 1600 and spent several weeks focusing on test strategies and time management, and on his second attempt, received a perfect score. In addition, as a senior, he is taking numerous AP courses in subjects ranging from physics and chemistry to literature and economics. He is considering attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, intending to pursue a career in mathematics.
