Town Of Oyster Bay To Honor 9/11 Victims And First Responders With Memorial Ceremony And Drone Show

The Town of Oyster Bay will commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11 with a series of events honoring the lives lost and the brave first responders who answered the call on that tragic day.

The Town’s annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony will be held today, Wednesday, September 9, at TOBAY Beach, beginning at 7 p.m. The ceremony will pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks and recognize the courage and sacrifice of the first responders, military personnel, and others who helped in the aftermath.

The Town will also co-host a special 9/11 tribute drone show with Embassy Diner on Thursday, September 10, beginning at 7 p.m. at Embassy Diner, located at 4280 Hempstead Turnpike in Bethpage.

More than 1,000 synchronized drones will light up the night sky in more than 10 formations, creating a moving tribute to the NYPD, FDNY, Port Authority, and the many other rescuers who responded on September 11, 2001.

The events offer residents an opportunity to come together as a community, remember those who were lost and honor the heroes whose courage and service continue to inspire generations.

In addition, the Village of Massapequa Park will hold its own 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Friday, September 11, at 7 p.m. at Village Hall.
