Town of Huntington Announces 4th Annual Project Prom

Councilwoman Theresa Mari, in partnership with the Huntington Youth Bureau and the Suffolk County Police Department 2nd Precinct, is proud to announce the 4th Annual Project Prom, a community initiative dedicated to ensuring that every student has the opportunity to attend prom with confidence, dignity, and pride.

Project Prom relies on the generosity of the community, and donations of new and gently used prom dresses and suits are urgently needed. These contributions make it possible for students to enjoy a memorable prom experience at no cost to their families.

Donation Drop-Off Information:
Location: John J. Flanagan Center
423 Park Avenue, Huntington, NY
(Please use the Youth Bureau Entrance)
Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Dates: Now through April 16, 2025

Last year, the Town of Huntington welcomed over 50 students from Huntington school districts, as well as neighboring communities, including Islip, Brentwood, Smithtown, and others. Each student left with the perfect prom attire—provided at no cost.

“Project Prom shows what we can achieve when our community comes together to support one another with kindness, dignity, and care,” said Councilwoman Theresa Mari.

In addition to its local impact, the Town of Huntington donated more than 300 dresses and suits to schools and religious institutions in Queens and Brooklyn, thereby extending the program’s reach well beyond the town’s borders.

Project Prom reflects Huntington’s commitment to compassion, inclusion, and community support—ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent students from enjoying one of the most memorable milestones of their high school years.

The Project Prom event will take place on April 29, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., offering students the opportunity to select formal attire in a welcoming and supportive environment.
