Town of Hempstead Honors Jewish American Heritage Month With Military Service Exhibits

In recognition of Jewish American Heritage Month, Jewish War Veterans Post 652 has unveiled two special exhibits highlighting the contributions and sacrifices of Jewish Americans who served in the United States military.

The first exhibit, titled Jewish Men in the Military, features photographs and stories of Jewish servicemen who participated in various wars and conflicts throughout history, showcasing the important roles they played in defending the nation.

The exhibit is currently on display in the lobby of Town of Hempstead Town Hall through the end of May. A second exhibit, presented by the Jewish Historical Society of Long Island, is also featured in the Town Hall lobby as part of the monthlong observance.

As part of Jewish American Heritage Month, John Ferretti and Town of Hempstead legislators visited the exhibits to recognize and honor the service and legacy of Jewish American veterans. Representatives from the American Jewish Committee, StandWithUs, and the Jewish Community Relations Council also attended, along with Ed Freeberg and Gary Glick of Jewish War Veterans Post 652.

Town Hall is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Metered parking is available, along with limited free guest parking behind the building. The parking lot entrance is located on Peninsula Boulevard.
