Jewish Woman In The Military Exhibit

Jewish Woman In The Military ExhibitJewish War Veterans Post 652 joined several Jewish organizations at the Town of North Hempstead’s annual Jewish American Heritage Month celebration, hosted by Jennifer DeSena at Town of North Hempstead Town Hall.

Each year, Town legislators pass a resolution officially proclaiming May as Jewish American Heritage Month in recognition of the contributions and achievements of Jewish Americans throughout history.

Representing Jewish War Veterans Post 652, Ed Freeberg and Gary Glick addressed the Town legislators, speaking about the organization’s history, mission, and accomplishments, as well as its longstanding commitment to supporting veterans and preserving Jewish military history.

As part of the celebration, the Post also installed a special exhibit commemorating Jewish women who served in the military during World War II. The exhibit features photographs and stories highlighting the important roles Jewish women held and the accomplishments they achieved during the war effort.

The display is located on the second floor of  Town of North Hempstead Town Hall and will remain on view through the end of May. Town Hall is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
