Town and Marines Collect Over 16,000 Toys for Tots

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino, Councilman Tom Hand and Receiver of Taxes Jeffrey Pravato joined the United States Marines Corp. in hosting a massive, first-of-its-kind ‘Cruise-Thru’ Toys for Tots Collection Drive at John Burns Park in Massapequa on Saturday, December 5th. The Town of Oyster Bay collected over 16,000 toys to help families impacted by the COVID-19 economic crisis and those less fortunate throughout the community during the upcoming holiday season.

Supervisor Saladino stated, “This ‘Cruise-Thru Holiday Toy Drive’ provided residents a safe way to donate toys while bringing smiles to the faces of children this holiday season. I thank our residents for opening their hearts and wallets to generously give back to children in need during the holidays. This collection drive was the all-time largest single day collection on Long Island and demonstrated the love our community has for others.”

For those who still wish to donate an unwrapped toy, please visit collection boxes throughout the Town by Monday, December 14th at the following locations: Town Hall North in Oyster Bay; Town Hall South in Massapequa; Department of Public Works in Syosset; Hicksville Athletic Center in Hicksville; and the Town Ice Skating Center in Bethpage.
