Supervisor Clavin And Council Members Unveil Jam-Packed Schedule Of Winter Parks Activities

Supervisor Clavin and all members of the Town Board invite residents to be a part of 2022 winter festivities filled with sports, arts and crafts, and dance. Town Officials encouraged residents to sign up this January to participate in the array of cultural arts programs and recreation fitness the Town of Hempstead has to offer. Whether it is sharpening your skills in the art of drawing course or perfecting your form with one of the many yoga classes, the Town of Hempstead provides programs that are suitable for all family and friends.

The special announcement was made by Supervisor Don Clavin along with Senior Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby, Councilman Anthony D’Esposito, Councilman Dennis Dunne, Sr., Councilman Tom Muscarella, Councilman Chris Carini, Town Clerk Kate Murray and Receiver of Taxes Jeanine Driscoll.

From as young as 5 years old, the youth programs presented by the town are among the finest in the state. The Town of Hempstead is enriched with countless sports and programs from tennis to self-defense, hula hoop fitness to competitive chess and much more. Online registration for programs will begin on Tuesday, January 25th at 9 AM at hempsteadtownparks.com.

The physical fitness programs offer an array of creative and fun ways to exercise and enhance the body and mind, offering classes like “Pound Fitness”, a musically inspired way of intense movement through weighted drumsticks. Through meditation, exercise, and even aquatic workouts, residents can optimize their health and fitness journey through the services offered. Physical fitness program registration will begin on Tuesday, January 25th at 9 AM at hempsteadtownparks.com. Each activity will include 12 weekly lessons that are packed with informative techniques and tips pertaining to the class of your choosing.

“Particularly during these times, it’s even more crucial to enhance physical and mental health,” Clavin said. “With many readily available programs at Hempstead Town, residents can find a variety of options that can help them on their health and fitness journeys.”

Aside from physical activities, the Town of Hempstead also offers a variety of cultural arts programs that can assist you in perfecting your craft or finding a new hobby. From oil painting to salsa dancing, there are programs for residents of an array of ages and interests. For all residents interested in the cultural arts programs, registration will begin on Wednesday, January 26th at 9 AM at hempsteadtownparks.com.
