Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta Judges The Fort Salonga Association’s First Pumpkin Carving Contest

On Sunday, October 30, the Fort Salonga Association (FSA) held a new community activity to kick-off the holiday season. The event was co-sponsored by the FSA and IGA of Fort Salonga. Music was provided by a past president of the organization, Paul Graf, and local merchants provided gift cards for the winners. Pumpkins were judged in two categories – Professional (traditional carvings) and Popular (painted). Although there were eight entries the event sponsors look forward to this event evolving and hope that more people will participate next year. Judging was done by Legislator Trotta and FSA member/volunteer Sonia Ferolito. “The kids did a fantastic job and they are all winners. I thank Charlie Reichert of IGA and all the merchants for their support,” said Suffolk County Legislator Rob Trotta.
