Student-Artists Honored In North Babylon

At the Feb. 16 North Babylon School District board of education meeting, several student-artists were recognized for their accomplishments. North Babylon High School students Matthew Holcombe, Emily Miccio and Peyton Silvestri were honored for being named All-County Artists. Silvestri was chosen as New York State Art Teacher’s Association artist of the month. Her artwork will be featured on New York State Youth Art Month website and social media platforms leading up to Youth Art Month in March. Her artwork was also chosen as the overall winner for the NYSATA YAM Flag contest. She won art materials from Blick art supplies. The students are pictured with North Babylon Board of Education President Matthew Lucchetti, art teacher Sarah Lambert and North Babylon School District’s Director of Art and Music Elizabeth O’Brien.
