Rogers Legislature Building in Hauppauge.
Suffolk County Legislator Tom Donnelly (D-Deer Park) invited and welcomed Brother David Migliorino, Principal of St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington, to give the opening invocation before the December 5 General Meeting of the Legislature in Hauppauge. In his inspiring non-denominational prayer, Br. David provided words of hope and togetherness. Prior to the invocation, the St. Anthony’s High School Gregorian Schola, under the direction of Assistant Principal Brother Joshua DiMauro, provided a stunning rendition of the National Anthem.
Br. David has been a member of the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn for the past 50 years and became Principal of St. Anthony’s High School in 2019. Before joining St. Anthony’s HS, he held numerous educational roles around the country, including principal, administrator and teacher. He received his undergraduate degree in history and secondary education from St. Francis College, his Master’s Degree in Administration from St. John’s University and his Educational Specialist Degree from St. Louis University. He holds New York State Certification in History and Administration.
Under the director of Brother Joshua DiMauro, the Gregorian Schola is a special select vocal ensemble drawn from the 600 members of the General Chorus. Comprised of Juniors and Seniors, the Schola is appointed based on vocal ability. The group has provided music for Christmas, Easter and Pentecost Masses on National Catholic Cable Networks as well as concerts at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, the St. Agnes Cathedral in Rockville Centre and West Point and Kings Point academies. The Schola has recorded seven CDs.
“I was happy to bring the wonderful St. Anthony’s High School community to the legislature. I am grateful that they all made the time during this busy period to join us and make the meeting extra special. I thank Brother David Migliorino for his meaningful and inspiring words and the St. Anthony’s High School Gregorian Schola for their beautiful rendition of the National Anthem’” said Legislator Tom Donnelly.
