South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District regularly recognizes the top academic students for different subject areas each month at an assembly. On Dec. 13, Principal Christina Cotter held an academic assembly to honor students in mathematics in each grade level. After each teacher spoke about the students’ growth in math or achievements, the students were interviewed by Ms. Cotter to talk about how they became successful learners.
