With the school winter break upon us and families looking for a staycation, Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Steve Labriola invite residents to skate for a cause on 2/22/22, when the Town will be offering $2 admission and $2 skate rental to residents who bring 2 non-perishable food items to any Town rink on Tuesday, February 22nd.
“The date of 2/22/22 is unique in that it falls this year during most school district’s winter break, where many families and children are looking for fun staycation opportunities. We invite our residents to help us ‘double our efforts’ in collecting non-perishable food items on 2/22, welcoming them to skate for just $2 at any of our wonderful three ice skating facilities,” said Supervisor Saladino. “Whether you prefer our outdoor rinks at Marjorie Post Park in Massapequa and Syosset-Woodbury Community Park, or our indoor Town Skating Center at Bethpage Community Park, enjoy $2 admission and $2 rentals for any of our 2 hour sessions throughout the day.”
Public skating sessions available on 2/22/22 at all three Town skating facilities run from 1-3pm, 4-6pm and 7-9pm. In addition to $2 skating and $2 skate rentals, the concession stands will offer $2 pretzels, $2 hot chocolate and $2 churros for the day as well.
“Ice skating is a fun activity for residents of all ages to enjoy, and the Town’s ice skating rinks provide the perfect setting for children and families to enjoy all that winter has to offer,” said Councilman Labriola. “What better way to spend a cool winter day than taking to the ice, and this special date also provides a great opportunity to do so at an even lower cost for a great cause.”
