Students at Shore Road School in the Bellmore Public School District wrapped up Pick a Reading Partner Week on Oct. 28.
The theme of this year’s program is “Reading is ‘Wander’ful” and involved students diving into the magical world of the “Harry Potter” series by J.K. Rowling. Throughout the week, students celebrated PARP Week through various activities, such as their first Monday morning at Hogwarts when they wore pajamas to school.
PARP is a New York State PTA program and encourages parents, staff and community members to collaborate in the building of a reading partnership between home and school with the aim to grow students’ love of reading.
