Senator Brooks Proudly Honors Seaford High School Students at 9/11 Memorial Committee Patriot Dinner

Senator John E. Brooks was proud to be an invited guest at the Seaford 9/11 Memorial Committee Patriot Award dinner at which he was able to present NYS Certificates of Achievement to select Seaford High School Seniors from both 2020 and 2021. This annual event was instituted so that we may remember all who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and specifically celebrate the lives of the five Seaford High School Alumni who were among them: Tommy Haskell, Timmy Haskell, John Perry, Rob Sliwak, and Michael Wittenstein.

It is in their honor that Senator Brooks was proud to offer the recognition of the NYS Senate to the following Seaford HS students:

2020 Seaford High School Award winners: Erica Albert, Jessica Kofod, Logan Masters, Christopher Surace, Matthew Karounos

2021 Seaford High School Award winners: Craig Ackerman, Anna Butler, Giana Cesario, Sarah Keane, Kathleen Tuohy

“After a year of unusual loss and hardship, it seems especially important to appreciate the ability of our communities to come together in response to tragedy,” said Senator Brooks. “There is no better example than the Seaford 9/11 Memorial Committee and the lives they are able to change in honor of loved ones tragically lost. I am reminded this year of the poignancy of this Committee’s mission and I want to thank all of you who support it.”

Senator Brooks was also pleased to be able to congratulate the three Honorary Patriot Award recipients Donna Jebaily, Marianne Pensa, and Erin King Sweeney, and said of their good works: “Let their service, character, and commitment to society serve as an example for us all.”
