Four Ward Melville High School seniors earned the Seal of Biliteracy, a recognition from New York State that honors high school students who have attained a high level of proficiency in English and one or more world languages. Congratulations to the following students:
- Aleyna Aydogdu, Turkish
- Michaela Dowd, Italian
- Carlo Fontanini, Italian
- Emma McKinnon, Italian
These students demonstrated their high proficiency in their respective language by researching a topic of interest and presenting their research to a committee. The Seal of Biliteracy encourages the study of languages while preparing students with 21st century skills. It helps identifying high school graduates with language skills for employers and college admissions officers.
