Port Jefferson School District student Michael Brown was presented with the Student of the Year Scholarship Award by the Long Island Association of Special Education Administrators. Michael was honored at the organization’s Scholarship Luncheon held in June at the Crest Hollow Country Club. He was nominated by his teachers based upon his accomplishments in classroom and extracurricular activities as well as his character, attitude and citizenship.
Michael attended the luncheon with his parents and District Director of Special Education Dr. Jodi Cahill, special education teacher Gina Fedler and Earl L. Vandermeulen High School psychologist Kristen Wendel.
