Saladino, Town Board Join With The Safe Center Long Island To Recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino joined with his colleagues on the Oyster Bay Town Board and Debra Lyons, Associate Executive Director at The Safe Center of Long Island as well as Alexis Riece, Senior Education Coordinator, to recognize the month of October as “Domestic Violence Awareness Month” in the Town of Oyster Bay.

The Safe Center Long Island is a not-for-profit agency located in Bethpage whose mission is to protect, assist, and empower victims of family violence and sexual assault while challenging and changing social systems that tolerate and perpetuate abuse. The Town Board recognized the Safe Center LI for its efforts and will have Town Hall in Oyster Bay illuminated in purple through October 15th, to highlight the importance of spreading awareness through the month of October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
