The Sachem Central School District held a legislative forum for community members to connect with local legislators on Feb. 29. The event was hosted by the board of education’s legislative committee and allowed the local leaders to discuss the district and educational priorities including funding, mental health in schools and the budgeting process. New York State Senator Dean Murray, New York State Assemblyman Doug Smith and Suffolk County Legislators Nick Caracappa and Anthony Piccirillo were all present to hear from members of the Sachem school community.
