Registration Opening for Town Youth Ice Hockey Spring Program

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Louis Imbroto announced that registration for the Town’s Youth Ice Hockey Program will get underway soon for boys and girls ages 6-16. Online registration runs from February 28th to March 1st at www.oysterbaytown.com/parks and in-person March 7th and 8th at the Town of Oyster Bay Ice Skating, where the program is run.

“This recreational and instruction program is designed to give youngsters a great way to learn the correct fundamentals of one of America’s most popular sports,” said Supervisor Saladino. “In addition to receiving instruction on the proper techniques of skating, stickhandling and shooting, participants will make new friends and create lifelong memories.”

Residents interested in joining the Town of Oyster Bay’s Youth Hockey Program can register for the Spring 2022 Session online from February 28th to March 1st at oysterbaytown.com/parks, or in person from March 7th to March 8th at the Bethpage Ice Center, located at 1001 Stewart Avenue in Bethpage from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Registrants must bring a copy of their birth certificate, proof of Town of Oyster Bay residency (tax or utility bill) as well as payment. Check, money order, MasterCard or Visa will be accepted. All registrants must bring these items, even if they have participated in the past. A parent or legal guardian must be present at registration.

“Youngsters enrolled in the Town’s Youth Ice Hockey program are given the great opportunity to improve their skating and hockey skills as part of a program that has earned recognition by the National Hockey League for its high level of quality,” said Councilman Imbroto. “Due to the great success of our new Girls Hockey Program, we are adding two sessions for this spring to allow for even more participants. Our program is truly is among the best around, with a dedicated coaching staff ready to teach this sport to the many boys and girls enrolled in our program.”
