Oquenock Celebrates Cultural Diversity

In recognition of National Foreign Language Week, Oquenock Elementary School in the West Islip Union Free School District engaged in a series of cultural activities in all classrooms, including English as a New Language classes. The school was decorated with international banners, flags and cultural greetings in different languages. Additionally, students participated in morning announcements by speaking in different languages, and classroom activities that highlighted different cultures and languages. Lastly, students, staff, and faculty wore cultural attire to represent their heritages.
