Northwell Health’s 30th Annual Katz Institute Luncheon And Fashion Event Raises $750,000 To Advance Women’s Health Initiatives

The 30th annual Katz Institute for Women’s Health Luncheon and Fashion Event featured a runway show by luxury designer Versace and honored leaders who are raising the standard of health care for women. The event raised more than $750,000 in support of women’s health programs and research across the regions Northwell serves.

The Sept. 14 event, held at Old Westbury Gardens for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, was attended by more than 550 supporters. Presented by the Partners Council for Women’s Health, the event featured Rosanna Scotto, co-anchor of Fox 5’s “Good Day New York,” as host and a luncheon by Lawrence Scott Events. Iris and Saul Katz, the benefactors of Northwell’s Katz Institute for Women’s Health, served as lead sponsors. To date, the Katz Institute Luncheon and Fashion Event has raised more than $12 million for women’s health.

This year’s honorees were Stacey E. Rosen, MD, senior vice president for women’s health at the Katz Institute for Women’s Health and Partners Council Professor for Women’s Health, and philanthropist Carol Wolowitz, founding member of the Partners Council for Women’s Health.

“This is a very meaningful honor for me for the simple reason that overseeing the Katz Institute for Women’s Health for the last 10 years has been, hands down, the greatest, most exciting, most rewarding job I’ve ever had,” said Dr. Rosen. “Iris and Saul Katz are the driving force behind this institute and the women’s health movement at Northwell. Our approach to addressing healthcare disparities in women is novel. It’s revolutionary. We put women at the center of everything we do, and I don’t believe it could be done anywhere else.”

During her remarks, Mrs. Wolowitz, also a lead sponsor of the event, reflected on its longevity. “When the Partners Council and I started this event, we never thought we would still be doing this 30 years later, and we certainly never imagined the tremendous impact this community would have on women’s health,” she said. “When you support women’s health, it creates a legacy not just for yourself but for your children, who learn what philanthropy looks like and how they can inspire others by giving.”

Americana Manhasset, a sponsor of the luncheon since its inception, is also an integral part of the day’s events.

The Katz Institute for Women’s Health was created in 2008 thanks to the vision and generosity of Iris and Saul Katz and provides an innovative model of care, delivering an integrated approach to women’s health and wellness. Supporters of the Katz Institute and the annual Luncheon and Fashion Event advance Northwell’s Outpacing the Impossible campaign and become champions for women.
