Northwell Health has been selected by Modern Healthcare as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work in Healthcare – one of just 150 companies and organizations to make the list. Only four other New York companies made the list.
Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey. The award looks at healthcare companies nationwide, and honors employers that empower workers to provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services, according to Modern Healthcare.
“It’s an honor for Northwell to be named one of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare,” said Michael Dowling, Northwell president and CEO. “As the largest private employer in New York, we see it as our duty to foster a culture of excellence, where every team member’s contribution is valued and celebrated.”
A ranked list of the Best Places to Work in Healthcare will be released in October at the 2024 Best Places to Work in Healthcare Awards Gala.
The awards were determined by a two-part assessment conducted by Workforce Research Group. Some came from an employer assessment, but the vast majority of the rating came from employee feedback surveys.
“This tremendous honor wouldn’t be possible without our extraordinary team members,” said Maxine Carrington, Northwell senior vice president and chief people officer. “Northwell wouldn’t be what it is without the contributions, caring and positivity of our team members. They’re the ones who make this such a great place to work.”
The award is one of the latest accolades for Northwell, which has been named a great place to work by many organizations. It was just recently named a national leader in LGBTQ+ inclusiveness by the 2024 Healthcare Equality Index, was named to Diversity Inc.’s Hall of Fame last year and was also named one of the Most Innovative Companies in America by Fortune.
