North Babylon School District held a two-day orientation for teachers new to the district this upcoming school year on Aug. 23 and 24.
The newest educators kicked off day one by meeting members of the board of education, cabinet and principals. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Graham welcomed attendees and spoke about expectations for the upcoming school year. To close out day one, the new employees received their school badges and had the opportunity to tour their buildings.
On the second day of orientation, the district’s department directors spoke to the teachers about each of their program’s objectives. Deputy Superintendent Kim Skillen offered an overview on curriculum and culturally responsive classrooms. Following a mentor meeting, the teachers closed out the day with a bus tour of the community.
