Legislator Steven J. Flotteron recognized Lodestar Children’s Services, a nonprofit organization established in 2016, in Suffolk County, and has since expanded to include all of Long Island, Queens & Brooklyn, at the “Then & Now” fundraiser at the CM Performing Arts Center in Oakdale. Their services provide mental health care to children ages 0-21 years old and their caregivers in the home, hopefully keeping these children out of institutions. It is believed by doing so it will give them a better chance at long-        lasting results when they can learn in the safety and comfort of their own homes and communities.
