Kindergartners at Forest Avenue Elementary School in the West Babylon School District celebrated their love of reading during the Literacy Ball on June 22. Dressed as their favorite character from one of the many books they enjoyed this year, students created posters featuring their favorite book cover or scene from one of the many titles they loved. Some of the kindergartners favorite titles included “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” “The Rainbow Fish,” “The Carrot Seed,” “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See,” “The Three Billy Goats Gruff,” “Should I Share My Ice Cream.” Invited guests joined the students for celebration afterward, featuring snacks themed around the book titles.
