Congratulations to Northport High School’s varsity girls basketball team for beating Longwood High School 60-50 to capture the Suffolk County Class AA Championship. The Lady Tigers will automatically advance to the New York State Regional Final on March 15 at 4 p.m. at St. Joseph’s College, where they will face the Nassau County Class AA Champion.
In the meantime, the Tigers will travel to Ward Melville High School on March 5 at 5 p.m. to battle Westhampton Beach High School for the overall Suffolk County title.
Congratulations to all of the student athletes and to head coach Rich Castellano, assistant coach Ken Schultz and junior varsity head coach Perry Marinelli.
