The Class of 2026 was welcomed to Elwood-John H. Glenn High School for freshman orientation on Aug. 30, where the incoming students were provided with an overview of tips for a successful start to the school year from students, staff, administration and the PTSA.
Outgoing Principal Carisa Burzynski informed the freshmen that she will be leaving
on Sept. 9, but that they will be in good hands. Assistant Principal Corey McNamara, who will begin duties as principal on Sept. 12, and Assistant Principal Patricia Sihksnel provided the newcomers with critical information and shared inspirational messages. Freshman Buddy Mentors provided words of wisdom and served as tour guides, advisers showcased their clubs, and the PTSA table offered spirit wear and agendas.
“It was wonderful to welcome the Class of 2026,” McNamara said. “Special thanks to the Mentors for serving as role models while providing invaluable insight to our newest John Glenn Knights as they toured the building. It's going to be an amazing year.”
