Islip Food for Hope set a record this year, collecting enough donated supplies to provide 1,000 Thanksgiving ‘Boxes of Love’ to local families in need. Islip Food for Hope fundraisers, including the Town of Islip Supervisor’s Breakfast and other events, coupled with the generosity of Town of Islip employees, will make Thanksgiving possible for 1,000 families. Islip Food for Hope will distribute more than 800 turkeys, 1,000 ‘Boxes of Love’ inclusive of all the trimmings, and 800 pies.
“Each year the generosity in our great Town grows, with more and more families able to have a traditional Thanksgiving holiday meal,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “This extraordinary show of kindness is truly heartwarming,” said Supervisor Carpenter.
